Yum. Phallic. Yum. Chocolate. Which begs the question that many women have a ready answer to: "What's better than sex?"

OK, a lot of frustration is coming out. :)

Not all ads are equal Rima, and not all companies hire talented people to come up with their ads. Check David's work by the way if you have not done so yet, interesting work:

Back to the "flake" bar. It is a very old product actually, goes as far back as I can remember. It might not have "American" qualities or "Swiss" branding. This is a product from a reputable company though, Cadbury, a UK based giant of confectioneries. You'd think they can be a bit more creative, but this type of ads have been their staple for as far as I can remember in Lebanon.

Maybe they know something about the Lebanese psyche that we do not know or choose to ignore?

On a second thought, who is their target audience?

I think it is about high time that someone looked at this phenomenon more critically.

Good post.

Flakes have been around (as chocolate bars) for many years in the UK. Flakes (as non-chocolate bars) have been around forever

One type of flake is messy to get involved with and the other type is chocolate..
